Forget everything you ever knew about Harry Potter in English. Crookshanks is now "Pattenrond", Snape is "Rogue", and Harry no longer has a magic wand, but a "baguette magique"! This book is for anyone who has a good knowledge of the French language. I recommend the book for anyone who has gotten through the first two years of college French with A's or B's or for advanced students taking high school French at a good high school. It is good because most people have read the Potter books and are familiar with the story, and the text is easier to read than works by Voltaire or Zola, for example. Take it from a French teacher, this is a great way to solidify your prior knowledge of French and get some experience reading in the language.Forget everything you ever knew about Harry Potter in English. Alrighty Then!
This is the book that started a revolution in Wizardry and magic. I know that when I first heard about the book, I wanted to read it and when I did get it, i couldnt put it down. Kind of hard to believe that this book came out in 1998. It seems like it has always been a part of my life. (The movies arent bad either.) I highly recommend this book and this entire series of books and movies. A++ The French version has some translation issues from the english version but it gets the job done.
