Wyrd Movie
I do not mean that the film is bad by calling it wyrd, it is just that I could not resist to call it this way (Wyrd Sisters - wyrd movie). On the contrary, it is very good. But I am kind of suspect to say, I am a fan of Terry Pratchett's work and I have all the books of him which were released in my country and some that I imported in English. I did the same with this DVD and it gave a lot of work to watch it, because the disc is region 1 and my device is region 4, so I had to make a copy Region Free in my computer. After all that I finally saw the movie and I really liked it. Of course it is not Walt Disney cartoons quality, but I liked it anyway. It does not have everything that was in the book from where it was based, but it has most of it. The best of the story was captured. The only ... The only thing I missed were the commentaries of Mr. Pratchett, but it would be odd to have them in a movie. The cartoon is about a kingdom that do not want to be ruled by a king who does not love it. I do not mean the people, but the kingdom itself. So the witches of there had to find the real king and bring him back to Lancre, where he must defeat the bad king. The only problem is that he does not want to be a king, he is a dam good actor and prefers to be a king in a play then on the real world. A lot of more things happens but if I tell you you would not enjoy that much when you sees it. I hope you like it. If you have read the book it is great to see the characters gain live. And if you have not read it yet, I hope this DVD makes you want to. The only thing I did not like was the Extras. There is just a kind of making-of and a few data about the characters and the author and some book covers. There is not even one interview with TP or the guys who did the movie.

Terry Pratchett’s Macbeth
It helps if you know the plot if Macbeth when you read this-it makes the theatre scene so much funnier. And the title is a pun -or pune, in Discworld parlance-on the old “weird sisters” name for Macbeth’s three witches. Unfortunately, this is Lancre, and Lancre witches do not regard literary rules as Gospel. Just to layer on TP’s superb knowledge and research skills, wyrd is also the Anglo Saxon word for Destiny or Fate. Read the book, watch the cartoon.
