SynopsisWhile attempting to solve the mystery of a stolen jewel, Seikei, a merchant's son who longs to be a samurai, joins a group of kabuki actors in eighteenth-century Japan.
I was reading The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn with my 8 year old grandsons as part of their home school reading curriculum in New York. It was based on a real character in Japanese history. The boys were very engaged with the story and some days did not want to stop reading. They learned about good character trusting instinct and reaching for the highest that you can be.
