The Road, one of the best post apocalyptic films made.
The Road is set in a post-apocalyptic world after some kind of cataclysmic event. A man and his young son who was born after the cataclysm plan on a journey by foot to the coast with the intention of heading south and finding a more inhabitable environment. This is a very confronting film considering the issues we are facing with climate change and the problems of not addressing it and adapting to it. Beautifully filmed the movie is not farfetched or over the top. The actors perform magnificently in bringing their characters to life. The story line though often gruesome shows to us what can be. enough to make one pause and reflect. I honestly enjoyed this movie immensely, enough to buy it. The Road
Excellent when I first saw it on SBS hence as to why I bought the DVD. A "premonition" of things to come as mankind destroys this planet. To date all science fiction writers writings and predictions are becoming a reality. In good time I predict we will travel at the speed of visionary perception as well as being able to harness electricity from the air as our air is static not to mention deep sea creatures. Leave the latter alone. It will happen. In good time we will be challenged by other beings like us. The nearest planet like earth is only 2 millions miles away. There are millions of solar systems like ours with living planets with same atmosphere and life. To think that earth a dot in the sky is the only planet with life is arrogance.
