    If you are serious about staying well and living a great life, this is what you should read.

    I have been studying this topic for over 50 years now and this is by far the best information source on the planet at this time. It brings everything together from the old fairy tales to the most scientific studies at this time... even down to how certain foods or things int he environment affect our dna and more. The author is easy going and not strict or heavy handed... he makes the point that even if you don't eat everything right, at least if you are headed in the right direction, then feel good about yourself and carry on (not a direct quote, my interpretation). I think it was Socrates that said something like " most people live to eat, while I eat to live".... so, I think most people don't really realize that what you eat is what your present and future experience will be ...

  • I wish I had known a long time ago

    Dr Greger’s book and the documentary, “What the Health” has had an incredible impact on my families eating plan. We have lost weight and are feeling amazingly fit. I’ve purchased and given copies of Dr Greger’s book to our two children, a niece and three of my co-workers. The information included in the book is incredible and the fact that it extended Dr Greger’s Grandmothers life span some 30 years is amazing. Wish I had this information 30 years ago.

    I was raised eating everything. It was all good for you. Everything. But, the quality of what we now grow on the earth is not equivalent to what was harvested in biblical times. Processed food is killing us. Thankfully, my doctor turned me on to this book. Now I, who laughed at 'veganism' finds himself thinking about what happens in our bodies when certain things are put in. I can't put this book down. Even the introduction is compelling enough to make a meat lover take a second look. The author continues though each body system explaining the effects of our American diet. As Bob Dylan put it, "The times, they are a changin'"!

    this has been big help to me in my quest for better health and less problems from the bad health I already have. it is easy to read and understand and provides scientific reasons for doing or not doing stuff. I would recommend it to anyone who is truly serious about LOSING WEIGHT, GETTING HEALTHIER, LIVING LONGER. yes it will challenge you to shut your pie hole, get off the couch, be a better steward of your inner life and the world around you. less calories, more fun activities, longer life or at least less health problems in the life you have left. for young and old, not hard to understand so you don't need a college degree to understand.
