Never will be old
This program comes from interviews by Bill Moyers of famous author and comparative religion professor James Campbell. In this he compares the mythological stories of the world to find that they have common meanings shared by humanity. I have listened to this program at different times in my life since it came out on PBS in the 1980's. Each time I find a different shade of meaning or an entire new truth that confirm the lessons of my own life. Campbell is like an old comfortable shoe and an awe-inspiring shaman at the same time. He knew so much and had met everyone from the Dalai Lama to priests of voodoo and gives them the same respect and understanding. Power of Myth is an inside look to the human psyche.
The Power of Myth is an audio interview of Joseph Campbell by Bill Moyers. They talk of different Mythologies, Religions, their relationship to one another and their influence on the human psyche. I bought this to replace a well worn set of cassettes of the same title. I enjoy audio productions while driving or doing tasks around the house. This is one I have always enjoyed listening to.

i missed the original recording with Bill Moyers, and i dont watch tv so the audio version is perfect for me. i burned it and put it on my ipod and now i can listen in the car or on whatever computer im at when time permits. its an outstanding recording, i am a Joseph Campbell fanatic. he was a very insightful man

Joseph Campbell and The Power of Myth
Campbell was such an inspiration in his clear and deeply knowledgeable portrayal of the meaning of religion and myth to the human race. This work is extremely enlightening, and I wish it would be included as mandatory reading/viewing/listening in all public schools.
