About this product

Product Information

Burning to get the Vote was the message left by suffragettes in March 1913 after they fire-bombed Saunderton Station. This book draws on original research to re-create the suffrage campaign in Buckinghamshire of a century ago and brings alive the struggles of some notorious and some less well-known figures in the women's fight for the vote. Muriel Matters, Hugh Franklin and Frances Dove were key figures in this local and national struggle, which involved public meetings, propaganda and a pilgrimage, as well as more extreme methods: tax evasion, window-smashing and arson. This is a popular but thorough local history of the suffrage movement, unearthing previously undiscovered evidence and tracing the trajectories of both the law-abiding National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies and the militant Women's Social & Political Union in the county.

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this seller, thank you so much! The issue with the wrong dvd was quickly rectified .

Book arrived safely packaged in perfect order. Item as described, new. Thank you Rarewaves Outlet. Fascinating book, great addition to my collection. Great price. Would recommended this seller. No communication needed with seller, so don't know what to rate with regards to communication (please dont take lack of feedback on this matter as a negative). Thanks again.

This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. Such good customer service, so strongly recommend. Really happy with my purchase.
