    Displays work perfectly using this device with mixed multi-monitor DP video card

    I have 2 AMD FirePro 2460 4 DP (display-port) graphics cards in my PC supporting 8 monitors. Each card was supplied with 4 passive DP to DVI adapters. At first the cards worked fine since all monitors on each card were the same brand and model #. However, replacment of 1 monitor pair with a different brand and model # pair caused random monitor disconnects. Sometimes they worked and other times they didn't with 1 or more monitors shutting off randomly on start-up or wake-up. The monitors were connected correctly per AMD instructions that said quad outputs must be paired with the same brand and model to DP 1 & 2 and DP 3 & 4 respectively. This was done. However, this connection method was wrong. AMD technical support said that this card actually does not support this kind of pairing ...
