Best book on war history
I normally don't read books on war or even write reviews like this. However, this book changed all that. I was reading an article on ESPN (of all places) which described this book as a must-read. After reading 'Guns of August', i must agree with that assessment. The book is written in a compelling way which really paints a picture of the first month of World War One. More impressive is the descriptions of the various Generals from both sides of the war and how their egos played a massive role in how the war progressed and ultimately the outcome of the war. If you only read one book about war, make sure it is this one.I normally don't read books on war or even write reviews like this. However, this book changed all that.
