About this product

Product Information

In this powerful book we enter the world ofJurgis Rudkus, a young Lithuanian immigrant who arrivesin America fired with dreams of wealth, freedom, and opportunity. And we discover, with him, theastonishing truth about packingtown, thebusy, flourishing, filthy Chicago stockyards, wherenew world visions perish in a jungle of humansuffering. Upton Sinclair, master of the muckraking novel, here explores the workingman'slot at the turn of the century- the backbreakinglabor, the injustices of wage-slavery, the bewildering chaos of urban life. TheJungle, a story so shocking that itlaunched a government investigation, recreates thisstartling chapter if our history in unflinchingdetail. Always a vigorous champion on political reform,Sinclair is also a gripping storyteller, and his1906 novel stands as one of the most important --and moving -- works in the literature of socialchange.

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this seller, thank you so much! The issue with the wrong dvd was quickly rectified .

Book arrived safely packaged in perfect order. Item as described, new. Thank you Rarewaves Outlet. Fascinating book, great addition to my collection. Great price. Would recommended this seller. No communication needed with seller, so don't know what to rate with regards to communication (please dont take lack of feedback on this matter as a negative). Thanks again.

This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. Such good customer service, so strongly recommend. Really happy with my purchase.
