Great super telephoto zoom at a bargain price.
Most people don't "need" a super telephoto zoom lens but they give an amazing compressed perspective and are critical for some applications. The problem is, professional long lenses are usually prohibitively expensive and consumer ones either don't have the ease of use or image quality to justify owning one. This lens does have the build quality, image quality and ease of use of lenses costing many times its price. The only slight drawback is the small(ish) aperture, but if you think about it, f6,3 is not at all bad for a 600mm lens. With the recent Sony bodies the autofocus and low light capability is still very good. The resolution and contrast are excellent and the fact that it is internal zooming make it a joy to use. This lens is generally described as a "consumer" lens but I think it ... Should the 200-600mm lens be a "G" and the 100-400mm be a "GM"? I know they are both excellent. I shoot for a living and I consider Sony 200-600mm f5,6-f6,3 G OSS to be a useful, high quality professional lens at a bargain price.

Super super super Zoom Lens
The difference between Sony G and GM lenses is so insignificant particularly in the med to large zoom range. This 200-600 is as crisp as and with my a7IV can handle the majority of light situations. Build quality is fantastic and are more than happy with this lens

Amazingly light weight for a 200 600 zoom
Awesome lens to pair with my A7r3. Only good in good lighting conditions though, not a surprise. One zoom lens in the market that can do 200 to 600.
