I generally don't cut wood for hours and hours so this is more than sufficient for my needs, It'll do big trees but obviously chews through battery quicker. Get a few of the 4AH batteries for $80-$90 on ebay so you can have at least 1 in the saw, 1 cooling and one on the charger. That should allow you to keep at it steady if you're really trying to put in work. Maintenance seems pretty easy. The black and decker saw I had before this also had a similar chain tensioning setup so it wasn't difficult to get to grips with but I can see it being annoying for those used to a regular gas saw. Overall I'm very happy with it. Especially when you price compare against something like a Husky 540i xp.. I'm sure it's an awesome saw but you can literally have like 6 extra batteries with this Makita for the same $ as a 540, charger and 1 battery.Read full review

It is quite for a chainsaw. It cuts very fast. It is easy to handle as the weight is centered well. It is necessary to watch the oil level as it does need lots of oil.
