Limited orange and black colored vinyl LP pressing. With their second album, co-produced by metal blade's headbanging head honcho brian slagel, satanic thrashers Slayer upped the ante from their debut in every way. More graphic album art, breakneck tempos, gruesome lyrics, and proper production gave the band a punchier sound while retaining their native aggression. #whereas their debut sounded like a band flirting with the dark side, hell awaits is where the band begins to sound truly sinister and evil. #dave lombardo's famous double bass drumming strongly came into play here, further propelling the lightspeed riffing and twisted solos of kerry king and jeff hanneman, who would help propagate a style of carpal tunnel-inducing axework for forthcoming generations of extreme metal bands. #to accompany this metal maelstrom, bassist tom araya appropriately growled and barked out all manner of dark lyrics, exploring the mind of a serial killer ("kill again"), vampires (the slower, moodier "at dawn they sleep") and the demented lust of a "necrophiliac". wisely, theband knew when to mix up their tempos and keep things from sounding homogenised. #hell awaits is definitely one of the '80s high water marks for both black and thrash metal.

This seller is a con artist. As you can see in all the pictures, the records have all been opened, but the seller is trying to sell them as new and unopened. I received a record that had a large chip out of one of the lps and on top of that there was clearly a scratch from where their record needle had skipped on the record when it obviously had been played! This person is buying records listening to them then selling as new. They also waited 7 days to respond to my return request. Shameful

What can I say except that it's absolutely perfect! Arrived almost 3 days earlier than expected. Item was just as described, condition 9/10, only has the tiniest bit of wear on a couple of the corners of the sleeve, literally nothing anyone would complain about for a pre-owned record. The picture doesn't do it justice! Color Looks even better in person. Definitely recommend this seller.
