Das leistungsstarke Blitzgerät besitzt Leitzahl 53 und unterstützt die TTL Systeme der bekannten Kamerahersteller, was die vollautomatische Belichtung erlaubt. Die einfache Bedienung steht beim EF 530 DG ST im Vordergrund.Die Blitzleistung wird automatisch geregelt, kann aber vom Benutzer auch auf volle oder 1/16 Leistung manuell eingestellt werden. Der Zoomkopf wird entsprechend der eingestellten Objektivbrennweite im Bereich von 24mm bis 105mm automatisch angepasst.Dank der eingebauten Weitwinkelstreuscheibe lässt sich der Bereich auf 17mm erweitern. Für indirektes Blitzen lässt sich der Zoomkopf um 90° nach oben, 90° nach rechts, 180° nach links und 7° nach unten verschwenken. Die Abschaltautomatik schont die Batterien.
