I have used this brand along with several other brands for more than 30 years. To be honest, for music recording, I never saw much difference between TDK, Sony, or most of the others; they all seemed to produce good sound and rarely jammed up on me. I have some right now that are over 25 years old and they still play and produce decent sound after all these years. I can tell there is some loss of music depth but that would be true of almost any recording product we amateurs use. The old 8-tracks stretch out and break and begin warbling long before that happens. Records acquire their infamous pops and crackles no matter how well you store them. Cassette tapes also stretch out over time but I have found the only way they break is when the player itself grabs hold of the tape and mangles it. But even then, I have managed to repair a couple of cassettes for more use after the damage. There is still some noticeable glitches when the tape passes over the damaged area but it is brief and tolerable because of being able to enjoy the rest of the tape. So, TDK is fine for almost all recording needs; that is, for the average less-demanding guy like myself. But I'm sure true audiophiles demand high bias and metal tape products for their needs. I just don't need that much quality to enjoy my music.Read full review
