When I First Heard About A Terabyte I Realized How Awesome It Would Be To Not Have To Buy So Many DVD-R/RWs To Store Stuff..1,000GB Is A LOOOooot Of Space...Except When I Plugged It In And Connected The USB, Turned It On...932GB? Don't Get Me Wrong..That's Still A LOT Of Space..But Not 1,000GB. Do I feel "Misled" By This Being Called 1TB? Uhm..Yeah. But As Long As You Know That This Is A Little Less Than What You'd Expect..You Won't Be Disappointed. The Drive Is Silent,Works Fast Even Using USB 1.0 . Excellent Buy, I Still Recommend It...Just Not 1TB.
Great item, I bought it to use for movies and music so I could watch movies at work since I work as a security guard overnights and it would be a long boring night without them. I found the item to have more than enough storage for what I need, but good to have more than you need than not enough. Item is very easy to use and very durable. Overall, if I had to buy another external Hard Drive, I would buy another Iomega 1TB HDD. The only downside is that the item requires an external power source and it is a little bulky.
-Needed to consolidate two other 350 GB external hard drives in order to free up space and ports on my desk top computer. -This new one works great! -it is everything and more than I expected from a 1 TB eternal hard drive. -At this point I have no dislikes when it comes to this product. -It is highly recommended compared to the other external hard drives I have used in the past.
I bought this external hard drive as a birthday present for my "very techie" husband. He loves having so much space to back up his computer and to store our movies. While it is a bit more bulky than I was first looking for, this external doesn't overheat like his old one or randomly turn off. And the fact that it is a little more bulky than some made it less expensive, so that was a plus for me. It has been very reliable, and my husband is very happy with it!
I bought this refurbished thinking it would be like a Toshiba external hard drive I own. The toshiba is organized and asks where you wish to store items on the drive, under music etc and communicates with those files on your PC and puts them in the same place for storage. This one has no start up menu and is hap hazard. After transferring files to it for storage, I could not find many important ones and lost my Favorites and all of my desk top icons and shortcuts on my PC. I do not recommend.
This external hard drive works very very well. No instructions needed, just plug it in and go! I was able to get all the information off of my old computer which was running windows xp and transfer all of it to my new windows 7 computer! I would definitely recommend!
I bought the item in a factory refurbished condition. No software was included. The drive works excellently. I am in no need of the security software; but, I downloaded it for free at iomega.com anyway to have it on hand. My purpose for this drive was to keep a complete copy of my music files with plenty of room to add more music; for this it is perfect. My music can now be played on any computer with a free USB port and an XP or later OS (1TB drives are not supported by Me or earlier OS). I highly recommend these drives. Mine came formatted FAT32; but, I immediately reformatted it NTFS to increase reliability.
I have a number of these drives. Iomega makes very reliable hard drives. I use them for backing up pictures and movies, etc. I haighly recommend Iomega Hard Drives.
Lots of memory for the money. Good back up drive for any PC user, home or business. Very simple and easy to use.
Provides effective backup for my PC. Seems fast, quiet.Has on/off switch and LED confirming operation, I leave it on most of the time. Price on eBay was good,
