A must have book for everyone's library
My grand daughter is approaching 3 years old, she lost her father just under a year ago. She sees photos, hears us talk about her dad and asks many questions, the most difficult to answer recently "why can't I hug dad". I had the Lifetimes book when first came out and read this often with my own children and my family day care children. Time passed and as a nurse I donated this book to our palliative care group to offer to those with children who came to see their loved ones in the hope this would help in their understanding of life's travels. I recently re-purchased this book so can sit with my grand daughter and we can read together and talk about her father. The pictures and wordings are easy for a child to grasp, the objects in it are identifiable from a child's perpective. As each page is read we diverse and talk about what we read and go outside to see, as in the birds, the flowers, the butterflies so can she can see these in real life terms as well to show what we read is happening in the now. This is a book that needs to be in everyones library.Read full review

Helpful book re life and death
Excellent book to help all ages, but especially children, understand the end of life. Simple language, some pictures could be better (e.g. the page of people).

Great book to explain life and death to young kids.
This book was recommended to me by my daughters Prep Teacher, to explain to her about life and death. I would definately recommend this book to other parents.
