A great performance.
They capture cold war paranoia and claustrophobia well in this sci fi thriller. John Goodman comes across as damaged goods with unclear intentions for the young lady he rescues. And what is really happening outside? Is he just paranoid or has some terrible fate struck the Earth. A decent film considering there are 5 or so actors throughout. Decent effects and great performances all round.

Rollercoaster ride of plot twists
Strangely, I'd not heard of this film and only bought it to pad out my purchase and obtain a postage discount. Well, what a complete surprise. It is gripping all the way through with so many twists and turns; Just when you think you have it all figured out, off it goes in another direction. The acting, direction and production design are great but it's the story itself that lingers. John Goodman is incredible; fearful, goofy, crazy, pathetic, domineering, pitiful, the works. It's best to watch this film as I did, completely in the dark and with no idea of what to expect. As for the quality of the DVD itself, it played perfectly and was as good as new.
