Live concert in 1970 on disc 2 is powerful representation of Jethro Tull in its early days. Disc 4 contains live cuts throughout the years from different venues. High quality songs and musicianship.

My brother had this box set years ago and I would borrow discs from time to time. Somehow, through the years he lost it so it was wonderful to listen to this collection again!

This item was no longer available as its production was discontinued. I missed it in 1993 and since I've been trying to get it without any success. To my surprise a friend draw me towards eBay as a last resort. I feared that it was too old and damaged, but I was wrong. Some people do care for their music. This box set along with another one (20 years of Jethro Tull - also acquired through eBay) are my greatest achievements, in music acquisition, this year. Thanks eBay.
This has to be one of the best box sets out there. If you don't have the 25th anniversary box set in your Jethro Tull collection you need to.

I passed on this when it was in print, and always regretted it. I also always wondered whether it was worth the money, since I and most Tull fans probably have most of the tunes in some form already. The answer, for me anyway, is that this is a great collection, with well chosen songs, and great audio. The remixes are largely either better or reveal another side of the tune, the live tunes and the re-recordings are very good. Prices for this set can sometimes get astronomical, but if one is patient, they can be picked up at prices that are almost reasonable, and for a Tull fan, well worth it. (If one is in it mostly for the music, one can sometimes find one with a scuffed box or missing cigar box but mint CD's).
