    Bargain Performance

    Didn't even consider Intel last year when looking to upgrade from my i7-4770k and kept waiting for the then well-priced ryzens to come back in stock. Partly down to Intel's mean spirited attitude and faster memory only being usable with z-series mobos. However, a failing mobo forced me to upgrade now. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. Pc largely used for AAA gaming and photo processing and this i5 is more than fast enough for both. So far, it hasn't even broken a sweat and in a way I'm glad I haven't been able to upgrade my gtx 1660 as my *total* power draw at the wall under load is about 200w which means the pooter runs quiet. I think you'd have to spend an awful lot more for a significant improvement in performance and then you'd be looking at much more power hungry chips. At ...

    Modern PC for all needs RIGHT NOW if you are happy with not upgrading in the future.

    Good value for money 6C/12T little beast. Now can be have for cheap compared to modern AMD equivalent and paired with B560M boards is a great combo for current gaming/work systems because now you are allowed to use higher freq ram kits too. Later you can upgrade to any of i7 models for productivity tasks. Now with intel 12th gen alder lake coming in both comet-lake and rocket-lake may seem a dead end platform but there is still good benefits to have such as lower temps and cheaper parts for new systems and this i5/i7 from intel 10th/11th gen are still very relevant for modern tasks machines /gaming systems right now as PC components are simply low in stock on retailers specifically for AMD alternatives.

    Only get it over the ryzen 5 3600 if your upgrading from an Intel platform and at a bargain price

    If you don't care about features such as pci-e 4.0 and inefficiency compared to the AMD competitor the ryzen 5 3600 buy this cpu but only if you can get it cheap as it's successor the 11400k is approximately also 10% better than this cpu in gaming tasks and also better in other workflows.
