HW good, SW and onboard memory terrible
Keyboard hardware is pretty good although it has N facing LEDs which further limit customization. The top row buttons and especially that volume roller are the worst of the HW. However, the brown switches lack satisfying tactile feedback, offering only a faint bump one-third into the keypress. Additionally, the G Hub software is a complete disaster. While I was already aware of G Hub's shortcomings from configuring my G502 mouse, the onboard memory support on the mouse adequately met my needs. Yet, with the Pro X TKL keyboard, Logitech inexplicably removed two of the three memory slots, limited RGB effects, and needlessly complicated onboard memory updates. Attempting to access features like "SHOW COMMAND LIGHTING" without constantly running the dumpster fire software is an exercise in ... It seems as though a product manager assumed that cutting corners with developers would result in an outstanding G Hub, but in reality, users prefer GMK/VIA, rendering G Hub a dumpster fire. Logitech's solution? Force users to endure the software. My experience with Logitech support was equally disappointing, wasting three hours with Deepak, who could only offer solutions as basic as reinstalling the software, likely the extent of his support script. Hardware: 4 stars (deducting one star for the janky, free-rolling, and rattly volume roller) Software: -2 stars. It's truly unfortunate that G Hub is so abysmal and the onboard memory is severely limited; otherwise, this keyboard would be a worthwhile purchase.
