    Old system, still fun

When fully operational, the Nintendo DS is a very fun system to play DS or Gameboy Advance games on. These systems are notorious for their hinges breaking, however. DS's that are in need of repair can be a good option if you're wanting to use its parts to fix another DS, or if you're wanting to just buy whatever part the for-repair system is in need of and making it a fully functional system. There are many tutorials online on how to fix the systems and are relatively simple devices. Personally, I bought one of these for-repair systems so I could put it on display in a shadowbox. So I didn't even have to fix mine!

  • Large fun in a small package!

Purchased this unit used for a little over half of what a new one would have cost. My 6 year old daughter had to have this because her friend had one, enough said about that. Received the unit to find it was in "like new" condition, it was very easy to get started, basic charge and go. I had not purchased any of the games at this point so it was limited as to what one could do other than simple writing and drawing practices. I was very impressed with the display quality and the many functions. A couple of days later I purchased a "Hello Kitty" game for this unit which my daughter just loves. She and her friend have hours of fun with these as one of it's features is a chat system where they can communicate with one another via wireless built into these units. If you have wifi internet ...

  • Nintendo DS

Both of my kids (ages 4 and 9) each have a DS. They love to do battles and write back and forth to each other, so the wireless feature is a huge plus - they can both easily play the games and I love the fact that it plays both DS games as well as Gameboy games - more options that way! On to the negatives - I think that the hinge that holds the upper and lower portions together is cheap - though they have not personally broke theirs, you can really hear them when you open and shut them and they just feel like they are cheap - not very sturdy. Also, the stylus pen is great because you need it for some games, but it should have some sort of feature where you can attach it to the DS so it can't be lost (even though you can buy them separately and they are pretty cheap, it is still annoying!) ...

  • Great product for the money for DS games!

I was wanting a DS system that wasn't too expensive and this one fit the bill. There are a few games out there I wanted to play and they were for the DS so I found this. It was an excellent price and in great condition. Cheapest I have found. Others for the price were broken or in very very poor condition and should be classified as broken. This one is perfect except for one little dot where the stylus was pressed too hard. It works like its brand new, plays all the DS games I have bought so far, battery life is great, its just a wonderful system if you dont want all the fancy bells and whistles the newer DS systems have. Only thing I find annoying is you have to use WEP or unsecure networks for Wifi. No one uses WEP anymore. It's too easy to hack. WAY too easy. A lot of newer routers ...

  • Nintendo DS Pearl

I like the idea of the system. However, it takes a little getting used to and can be somewhat difficult to use. You have both a touch screen and buttons, sometimes you have to use both at the same time. This is not an easy task, but there are games that do not require to use both. I am probably older than most users and am accustom to the classic Game Boy design of buttons only. I do like the technology of the new system but it is a little bit tedious and confusing at first. Overall the system is great!
