So good, I bought TWO
I love this camera so much, I bought TWO. When these things came out nearly 6 years ago, they cost nearly £700 new. You can pick them up for about £100-£150, and they're still a great camera at that cost. I'm currently waiting on my second one arriving, as I wanted a multi-camera offering for my interview work, and I know what these things can do. You'll hear about how great they are, but this is a review, so I'm going to give you the bad stuff, which isn't much, otherwise why would I have bought another one? Well, in low light, they're not great. The image quality becomes reddish, as you would expect when ramping up the ISO on the sensor. This can be compensated for using a raft of LED lighting, so bear this in mind if you're thinking of doing low light interviews, you really need to ... I love this camera so much, I bought TWO. Well, that and filming people with black clothing, but that's an issue with most cameras anyway, but one this suffers from too. The plus sides are this: HDD, Microphone 3.5mm Connector, it even has a hotshoe mount for 3rd party microphone attachments. The video quality and stability is great, it's iMovie friendly, for those who have had experience with audio sync (even with Apple's own phones that can happen), I use it in Adobe Premier CS6, rendering down to more manageable file sizes, plus you can plug in your own earphones to see what the in-camera sound is coming through as, with manual adjustments available too. In short, and I've gone on long enough with this review, to the point I'm now even bored, it's a great camera. For the price you can pick these up at now, it's not even a gamble. They're a steal. Get one, get two, you won't be disappointed.

For the size of this camera it is a special product. When using in good light the camera quality is amazing. It is truely a must buy for the price it is. In fact the whole JVC Everio GZ-HD... line works well just depends on which one you want and how much money you want to spend...

JVC GZ-HD30 Camcorder. Awaiting repair return
The JVC GZ-HD30 Camcorder. was purchased by me, after reading reviews, with the intention of filming a very sick neighbor aged 87 years, for his relatives in Australia. The Camcorder had a fault on the Built-in HD and was unable to copy scenes onto the Computer. This was returned to the seller three weeks ago for repair/replacement. My sick neighbor remains critical in Hospital. His relatives are now over in the UK to visit him in Hospital before he slips away. Having not heard anymore about my Camcorder, I am now wondering, if it was worth the initial outlay. It appears that not only have I not got the use of my Camcorder, that I will shortly not have my neighbor also. What a Picture!
I did a lot of background reading and was really impressed by what I'd read. It lives up to expectations and is really portable considering its high power and excellent quality recordings.
