      JVC Portable Bluetooth speaker

      Pleasantly surprised by the sound from this unit and may consider another for stereo as sound much better than expected.It will eventually be used in the garden for listening to radio via internet via Bluetooth, was very easy to connect using Bluetooth and seems to be an all round bargain. Weighing in at 8kg feels solid and powered by a lead acid battery when not plugged in, not sure on duration yet as haven't left the house with it, also has various flashing lights from the centre cone that can be turned on or off as required.

      Pretty good for the price

      Positives: Sound is excellent & guitar port can be used for a second microphone if you fancy a bit of karaoke! Controls are easy to use & the bass booster almost doubles the volume. Bluetooth connection is easy. Negatives: Battery does not last anywhere near the advertised 14hrs but we did use it on high volume, lasted around an hour before it had to be plugged into the mains, no choices on auto radio station tuning. Overall pretty good for the cost.

      Value for money, possibly best quality on a budget.

      Good quality, well made and really practical. Decent sound, surprisingly powerful for a 50W RMS, almost purpose designed for garden barbecues, small beach parties or street busking. Saying that, don't expect quite top shelf quality and you won't be disappointed. The BT connection reliability is about average and the single speaker format is never the best way to go in terms of sound quality; the bass is overwhelming the entire scene at times, compromising the roundness of the sound and somewhat interfering with the listening experience, but it wasn't built to be a home cinema, so you might dismiss the above comment as being picky. In fairness though, it's a pleasant, user friendly product addressed to those looking for value for money, because that is what is reliably delivered here.

      Really impressed for the price.

      Bought this on impulse when it was on offer from Currys, it's been a really good buy! It's very well put together and feels like a more premium product than the price would suggest. It pairs easily with my phone every time and I had it working within a minute of opening the box. The sound quality is good and it can go very loud. I use it in my workshop and it fills the whole space with sound easily at volume 8 (there's 40 volume settings). It's certainly not super quality sound but more than good enough for the average listener, there's a bass boost function if you prefer lots of it!
