  • Stateside Bertie not as funny as usual

Being a big fan of the Jeeves and Wooster ilk of books and programs, I purchased this set(season 3)in the version with Steven Fry and Hugh Laurie. The first 3 episodes take place in the States, and as usual for the British, they get as many digs in as possible;we're crass, loud and have obnoxious speech patterns, etc. The cast of characters isn't too well developed, nor very likeable, and except for Aunt Agatha(the nephew crusher)and Tuppy Glossop, there are few familiar standard cast members.Sets are stark and generally remain in the apartment setting in Manhattan.(Very Poirot-ish)The second three episodes are thankfully back in Britain, so the houses are stately and beautiful.A former Rupert Steggles is incarnated as Gussie Fink-Nottle, and there's a new Angela Basset.A different Aunt ...

  • I love Jeeves and Wooster

I just love PG Wodehouse stories and while these dramatizations are sort of compiled from from a few different stories with the same characters, they are true to form and funny all the way. Maybe I was born in the wrong era, but I really think I could go live in Edwardian England and as long as Bertie Wooster was footing the bill, I'm sure I would have a great time. I bought this DVD set because I already own The Complete Second Season and at this price I could not go wrong! If you don't think you would like the DVD, try a PG Wodehouse book. He is a great humorist and Jeeves and Wooster are my favorite Wodehouse characters.

  • A great British comedy series

I'd rate Jeeves and Wooster among the all time great British comedies. I only regret that they only made four series. Obviously, I highly recommend Jeeves and Wooster.

  • Wooster and Jeeves

Wooster and Jeeves is the story of Bertie Wooster, a member of the idle rich in pre-World War II England, and Jeeves, his valet. Despite being independently wealthy via inheritance, Bertie still finds himself bowing to the will of his overbearing Aunt Agatha, who is bent on finding a wife for her bachelor nephew. Episode plots generally involve Bertie receiving assignments thrust upon him by his aunts, friends, and even casual acquaintances. Complications arise, but all problems are inevitably solved by the brilliance of Jeeves, whose encyclopedic knowledge and flawless logic are at the center of each of Bertie's triumphs, allowing him to make his friends happy, keep his aunts at bay, and stave-off dreaded nuptials.

  • Funny, but bad morality.

Funny and entertaining, but too much slick lying to get out of situations made it undesirable for my children to watch.
