      Leather handled hammers are best for use in home shops.

      Bought a leather handled product to use as a model for refurbishment of vintage hammers, hatchets and picks. Found the overall quality in the lacking of polish on metal work as opposed to vintage hammers, hatchets and pick products. Did not compare to the synthetic hammer handles used for production field work. Obviously abuse from extreme use and appearance value is relegated to heavy carpentry purposes.

      Fine Hammer

      Great overall deal on a quality made hammer. With all the cheap junk tools floating around today, its nice too see estwing producing a fine product still. The leather handle is heavy duty yet smooth and comfortable to wield. The hammer is well balanced for its size.
