    • Airy-sounding condenser that punches waaay above its weight class!

I was looking for a mic that had more air up top, without being overly bright. I was upgrading from an sE 2200 a II c which I've used for years. I was worried it wouldnt as these are designed by AKG engineers, and I hated the sound of my voice on the 414b. Thankfully Lewitt mics have their own kind of sound. The 440 also made my reverb and delays sound significantly better. Mixing is way more fun now. I can really get that pro vox sound that "sits" perfectly in the mix, you can make it bright of darker sounding to taste with no problems/artifacts. • Absolutely Awesome Mic!

I've used quite a few mics as drum overheads over the years. I've had 2 sets of 414's, Shure KSM 27's and KSM 137's and these are better than any of the previous mics. I can't say exactly what it is but they seem to have the perfect frequency response for cymbals. More detailed high end without any harshness at all. I can run these mics flat where I have to eq other mics to get the same sound.
