Excellent valve! In use for a year now and still working perfectly.
I put this in for an end of line hot water recycle system (get hot water to a very distant shower by running water from hot side to cold side until it warms up without throwing away the water). This and a small water pump work perfectly. Tie them both up to a 110 V switch, put your finger on the pipe until it warms up and then shut it off. It works perfectly (it's been in use for over a year now and I'm very pleased with how well it works). Easy to put it in. Makes a very positive open and close (makes a good whomp when it turns on and off - but that's the solenoid kicking in - so it will put a little stress on your pipes when it shuts off, but if you've got good solid plumbing, there's nothing to worry about).I put this in for an end of line hot water recycle system (get hot water to a very distant shower by running water from hot side to cold side until it warms up without throwing away the water). Ho hum, yep, it's a solenoid valve.
It does work, but you get what you pay for... nah, you almost never get that much. I can't say much bad about this solenoid valve but I can't say much good about it either. It does work. But I did have a failure or so after a few months of use (cycling once every 6 minutes for a few hours per day). I have a number of them. The ones with Viton seals (for higher heat resistance) are a tad better (my water was never too hot anyway). They are, of course, made on China. I'm a cheap-skate so I'd buy them again, but I understand and accept that they are what they are. The alternatives are just too expensive for me.It does work, but you get what you pay for... nah, you almost never get that much.
