        Superb

        Even though I have previously watched this a few years ago, it is still a great political drama. Once you get into watching this sub-titled series it is irrelevant to the watcher that subs are a problem. Challenge yourself to watch it and, like a good book, you will not want to stop watching and eagerly wait for the next episode to start. This Nordic Noir style drama is superb. If I may also suggest more titles try the Nordic drama series, The Killing Trilogy and The Bridge Trilogy - both excellent in their own rights and on a high levl of enjoyment too.

        Gripping

        If someone had previously suggested I watch a drama about Scandinavian politics, I would have thought they were mad. But this series is absolutely gripping! The characters are well drawn and the plots easy to follow. I fully recommend this to anyone who needs to get immersed in a different world for a while.

        I purchased this DVD because it was the same producers of The Killing. Borgen is very good although I do get a bit lost with all the twists and turns

This is not helped by the English subtitles in white being constantly shown on a white background making it difficult to read.

        Great scripting, excellent characterisation, intriguing plot....

        Compulsive viewing when it was serialised on BBC4, this series takes on even more appeal when you can watch as a box set. The central character is credible, and the standard of acting throughout the cast is exemplary. A change from the detective style, but no less captivating, Borgen, elicits the subtleties and temptations of the world of political power with style.

        Scandi Noir at its best
