Gets the shave done well, but I don't like the design.
Have never liked this design and had hung on to my old Norelco in the hopes they would change it. But the old one is no longer up to the challenge if I go a couple of days without shaving so I upgraded. The 9000 series gets the job done well, but it is difficult to take apart to clean and changing the head to use the sideburn trimmer is inconvenient. Nearly Same Features. Less Run Time
I have owned Many Norelco shavers for 15 years and my last model ran longer before needing charging than this 9700 version. Norelco says the 9700 last 60 minutes. This one runs about 50 minutes before the orange color light shows The cutting quality is about the same as my previous model. Another point is always use OEM Norelco blades and do not try and cut corners with buying the cheaper China knockoffs. The cleaning system in this version is a worthy feature. Disinfects the blade and the inside of hair collector by just setting the shaver on the cleaning cradle , pressing a clean button and the rest is done automatically.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice shaver at a price you'd expect to pay for top-of-the line
So far so good. Just got it. But the few times I've used it I've noticed it shaves really nicely. Still the best razor around after 60 years.
I've used Norelco products for 60 years. I've always been happy with them, and I'm happy with this product. I bought a similar one approximately two years ago, but the cleaning apparatus stopped working, and I decided to buy a new one. The new one may work even better than the old one. With this new apparatus, I also received a face cleaning brush attachment, which I did not expect, and a trim razor attachment, which I did expect. "new in open box" really is brand new.
Excellent buy on an expensive (retail) shaver. All the bells and whistles for 1/3 the price of the box stores. "brand New in open box" worked for me. A detailed examination with a powerful magnifying glass convinced me it had never been used or even opened. All sealed packages were still intact. It really is brand new.

Philips Norelco 9700 Electric Shaver
The parts included work quite well, but the separate trimmer attachment is inconvenient to use relative to Norelco shavers I've owned in the past. Older Norelco shavers have trimmers that simply flip out for quick, convenient use when needed. The separate, stand-alone cleaning solution holder/charging stand may also be an unnecessary complication. Close shave
Because I had skin-cancer surgery on my face, leaving a long scar; I did not want to shave around (near) the stitches with my razor blades (I experience tremors - I shake), I felt it was time to use an electric shaver. I have not had an electric shaver in, probably 50-years, this is, in my opinion, a very good, high-quality, electric shaver. Great shaver
The shaver gives a close shave and I only shave every other day or so. The unit is very light compared to my old shaver and has a "lighter" noise level also. The charging and cleaning stand is cool.
