A slightly different story, gorgeous to look at and well told. But not the same.
If you loved the book the movie will piss you off. It is SORT OF the same story- characters have been combined, and many plot shortcuts are taken, but the movie producers had ONE story to tell and not a lot of time to tell. The photography and the recreations of the circus are fantastic. You'll enjoy the film if you judge it as a seperate story in it's own right and not a word by word retelling of the novel. The elephant is great. The audiobook, which I got at the library, is word-for-word true to the printed book and is excellantly acted by two different narrators.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Pattinson is one great actor
I absolutely LOVE this movie and highly recommend it. Robert Pattinson is such a good actor & not just a pretty face...….. When I first saw him in Twilight, I thought wow this guy is cute, but will he last -- well, I'm here to tell you this is one impressive actor, and I have watched him in every movie he's ever done, & he is very talented. I have bought several of his films, and have never been disappointed.
