Where Alice revisits his home town
Alice Cooper is now in his 70s. This new album is obviously no match for early classics like Love it to Death, Killer or Billion Dollar Babies from his 70s heyday but this album comes close. Basically an album about how good life was in Detroit, this harks back to those early albums with an updated sound with Alice sounding revitalised. Apart from the odd weaker cut - Social Debris, the album rocks hard - Go Man Go, Detroit City 2021, I Hate You, Shut up and Rock. Covers such as MC5s Sister Anne, Bob Segers East Side Story are also great, but the albums most telling moment is Hanging on by a Thread - about the pandemic and for me the greatest track on the album. Alice Cooper - into his 6th decade and still making great rock music. Respect due
