  • Awesome multi pedal

Zoom makes great products, and the MS-50G is no different. Wanted a pedal for a small pedal board that would add versatility. The learning curve on this pedal is not too bad. Great for effects that I don't use that often, such as wah. Nice effects, sounds like the pedals they copy. Amp simulators are okay, but the modulation effects are what I bought it for and they really shine. Placed in the chain after the dirt and before the modulation, it's right at home. Great choice if, like me, you are looking for a pedal that does lots of different things but doesn't take up a lot of space.

  • A small pedalboard inside my pedalboard

This thing can actually do most of my pedalboard by its own, but I like to be dynamic and be able to switch on and off all effects on the fly, so I still need the rest of my pedalboard, delays and reverbs are actually great once you update. Modulation was the main reason i bought this, but so far I'm loving the lo fi delay, bit crusher, monophonic synth, and ambient reverbs it's a great pedal just for those alone. Acoustic simulator is good too. Tuner seems good. Jack of all trades. Amp sims and distortion are what you would expect from digital. Not bad, but not great.

  • AMAZING - I thought ZOOM was junk BEFORE I tried this pedal, they got better!!!

I love this pedal. The sound and the DSP's they used are better than I would have ever imagined. ZOOM has upped their game, or the tech has gotten that much better. A pedal this cheap would never have sounded this good 10 years ago. If you remember the plastic, poor sounding ZOOM multi-effects from the past decade, well this will show you this company has turned it around. I bought this with the thought I would return it if it sucked. I saw a Youtube video and I could not believe how good it sounded, so I took a chance. Good gamble! I would highly suggest you try this item. Dave

  • fun, simple and powerful

This is exactly what I've been looking for. A simple multi that I can easily program and jam to. The ability to pedal chain and arrange allows fun sound crafting. Effects can be coordinated for each song and a simple stomp jumps between them. On my digitech, I'd have to give multiple taps to get from effect to effect. This stomp has lots of effects to choose from, it would have been a great value new, but I'm glad to have found a used one.

  • Really Good

Great tool for practice, and performing. Has everything you need. I highly recommend it. Easy to learn to use. I mostly use the delays, chorus and Tube Screamer, with the noise gate. The amps sound fine too, but I mostly use it as a multi effects into an amp. I do love the fact that you can just put it in your guitar case and carry it to practice, going straight to FOH if needed. (you will need a DI for this) The batteries last a long time, and are a snap to change. I set up 4 presets, and cycle through them with the footswitch. Best piece of gear for the money. Tuner works great too.

  • Extremely versatile

I replaced an entire pedal board with this little unit! It has very good quality sound and is quiet. No way you can you find this amount of effects in a small footprint at such a great price. PS I am a pedal steel player and we like our sound CLEAN.

  • Awesome digital multi-effects pedal. Sturdy, tooons of options, really great value overall.

This is a very capable multi-effects pedal. Although all the effects are digital, most of them work surprisingly well, particularly the modulation effects. Things like chorus, reverb, delay, and EQ are very effective. Can you get better sounds from more specific, standalone analog pedals? Sure, but the fact that you get so many options in such a small, sturdy package is hard to beat. I'd recommend this for beginner to intermediate guitarists looking to try out a ton of effects before investing in some of the more expensive effects out there. Honestly would work in more professional boards for players who just want to keep clutter down while still having access to a lot of options. I also like how it has the option for stereo output, so you can take full advantage of the stereo effects, or even hook up a headphone amp and use this is a little amp modeler! Yes, it has a handful of emulated amps to choose from. They aren't necessarily amazing, but they sound better than I expected. I will say the some of the distortions/overdrives on this sound a little "plastic" to my hears (you can squeeze a bit more out of them with the EQ, but definitely not a real tube screamer or heavy drive pedal). They aren't as bad as some people say though, that's for sure.

  • Punches above its weight class.

It has a ton of features for its price. Most of the distortions and amp models are not so good but there are a few really good ones. Some people complain about lack of flexibility. But really, look at what you're getting for the price. You could get two and have more flexibility, and still be $$$ less than you would be able to get with anything else.

Despite its age the software for this device is really there and you can use zoom effects manager to do some cool stuff with it. The interface takes a little getting used to but its fairly straightforward after messing with it for a bit. I also like the flexibility of being able to run off USB, 9v, or AA batteries; although I've found that using the USB to power it can cause some ground loop issues and unwanted noise.

  • Zoom MS-50G

Good little multi-FX pedal. Second one I've bought, as a backup. I don't use the amp sims, but do use the time and mod FX with some choice dirt boxes on a small pedalboard which doesn't have room for the equivalent physical pedals. It also allows me to chain the fx in different orders than would be possible with the physical pedals. Well worth the $$, IMHO.
