    If crime drama is your thing, this is a must-have in your DVD library.

    I missed this series when it was first aired but when I started buying DVD series I saw it had excellent reviews - and they were spot on. I'm really immersed in it and, given it's age, have been fascinated by seeing so many guest appearances by young actors and actresses who went on to become top names in the field. An excellent gritty series, beautifully written produced and directed with a stellar cast. The subtle ongoing revelations into the background of the main characters and the impact it has on their psychological reaction to the jobs they do is remarkably good.

    The Best Crime Series; Cast is AMAZING; An Original

    Wanted to share this series with my daughter who was born in 92! She is a fan of Law and Order SVU- and something reminded me of this show-- then I started to look for it-- and HOLY COW! It's really impossible to find in it's entirety streaming- and I didn't want to 'half' find it! 😆 So I set out to find it complete and was thrilled to do so! I can only assume there would be some sort of battle with the higher ups and it has blocked this from streaming or being released on Hulu or Netflix -- but that's okay with me! 😆 I still have a DVD player --

True to David Simon’s book and Charm city itself. Homicide pulls you in until you are in Fells Point with the squad. Not always pretty, the good guys don’t always win, and every story does not end with an ending just like life on the street. truly entertaining.

    I loved this series when it was on the air and always wanted the whole enchilada, but it was rather expensive for a long time, so I gave up hope. This is every single episode that aired with some nice special features, including commentaries 6 of the episodes, including "The Subway" with Vincent D'Onfrio. If you like gritty crime/police procedural programs, don't pass this one up!

    This is the best TV show I have ever seen. It is realistic, edgy, but not gory. Deep character development and great actors. Andre Braugher at his best, and a cameo by D'Onofrio. Better even than Law and Order. Critics loved it, but it was third after the completely forgettable Nash Bridges in the ratings.
