This rarer title DVD came in a very sturdy air bubbles shipping package and was wrapped with 3 layers of MORE BUBBLE WRAP!!! THE value price for this item was awesome! At the time I think there was only about 4-5 listings and your price was excellent. The item came better than described, the 2 sided disc was in 97% condition on both sides! The DVD case was in about 80% condition was good to. Shipping cost was excellent and the item arrived a little early so all the bases are covered.5 BIG STARS

A vintage film worth the watching

Back in the 50s there were still many things we didn't know about space travel, and THE QUATERMASS XPERIMENT (aka, in the U.S., THE CREEPING UNKNOWN) capitalized on that. Shot in black and white, the story details the aftermath of an experimental flight into outer space masterminded by the earthbound Dr. Quatermass. The ship returns minus two of its three-man crew. The third man, Victor Caroon, soon begins to change, mutating into a weird amorphous monstrosity that slithers and slimes its way into Westminster Abbey, where it is eventually incinerated by electricity. The film is notable for a mounting sense of dread and good performances by all the actors. (Lionel Jeffries, later to play Professor Cavor in Ray Harryhausen's FIRST MEN IN THE MOON, has a small role, and Jane Asher, later to ...

    Beware: DVD-R

This is a classic sci-fi/horror movie from Hammer, but re: this "MGM Limited Edition Collection", read the fine print: this is a made-on-demand DVD-R, with a cheap-looking, template-created insert. If I wanted a DVD-R of this movie, I would've torrented a copy. Totally not worth the price, especially since Kino Lorber recently released an excellent Blu Ray of this movie. I recommend picking that up instead.

  • Great old British sci-fi film! Gripping, suspensful story with an ending that makes you wonder "What's next?"

Great old British science fiction film. I remember seeing this when I was a kid and being plenty scared! Quality of recording was excellent, shipped quickly. I am very happy with my purchase!
