Excellent quality replacement.
This product is a perfect replacement for the original cartridge although its obviously now mixed plastic and brass rather than all brass. Quality is still very good. It was hard to find the actual product code so I had to do it by visual comparison of old and new. I couldn't resurrect the old unit and this one has now brought the shower back to life. Much cheaper than the full RRP. Very easy to change as long as you turn off the water first :)This product is a perfect replacement for the original cartridge although its obviously now mixed plastic and brass rather than all brass. Regulates the temperature and sometimes needs replacing...
We needed a new one because after 13 years we couldn't adjust the thermal waterflow any more. It didn't achieve more than about 37 degrees which seemed rather cold on a normal day. So we phoned hansgrohe to enquire about the product we needed to replace which was the thermostatic cartridge. As a first step, we took the coverplate off and "unhinged" the chromed valve from the old thermostatic cartridge (there's a little screw to be undone on the outside). Then, you can "unscrew" the cartridge itself and take it out. Clean out the void it leaves (we had some little debris in there so perhaps the system wasn't flushed out properly initially when newly installed) and then insert the cartridge and trace back your previous steps. You can then set the temperature when the red (temperature ... We needed a new one because after 13 years we couldn't adjust the thermal waterflow any more.
