    OK -- would not buy again

    Unit DOES NOT use standard Windows NTFS format -- meaning that you can't unplug the drive, connect it to another Windows PC and read it. See: "en dot wikipedia dot org slash wiki slash Netgear_SC101 for details". Also... there is NO DRIVE software for W7, W8, or W10 (that I could find). I have it connected to an old Windows XP machine and use it for backing up my other machines across an ethernet LAN. I WOULD NOT buy another one, but it has been working fine (with 2 80GB HDs) for over a year now. It does get very hot -- especially when my backup routine is running.
