Order arrived quickly from order date. Product is in brand new, unopened blister pack packaging. My only problem is, and after considerable research I cannot figure out how to connect 2 pc's with this cable. All recommendations I could find point to a transfer cable with electronics between connectors - and software to use for the actual data transfer which is usually provided with the proper data transfer cables. I consider this item totally unusable as it stands in today's world.

    WARNING users... This is *not* a bridge cable!

    Most users don't realize modern PCs need a "bridge" cable if they want direct xfer computer to computer. Sellers label these cheaper cables "PC to PC" as false advertising to trick people into thinking they get a "bridge" cable which allows the direct USB link. These allow xfer between any peripheral data unit but not another PC. You've been WARNED!

    NOT A USB BRIDGE!!!

    In the description for this product it does not state to be a bridge however it states to be a data transfer cable however I have fried 4 working ports in an attempt to connect my computers Make sure if you're looking for a real data transfer cable it is a bridge cable they actually have a chip in the middle of them. Good luck. The cord will work to charge something though you can use it to plug into a laptop fan or stuff like that

    Cant figure out how to transfer between pcs

    Best I can tell that it is not a bridge, it is just a gender change cable wired straight through. Nothing is detected when plugged into two pcs. I have ordered another cable that has electronics in it to do the job. Product looks just like the advert photos and is in good shape, it just doesnt seem to work for what I wanted (to transfer data between two computers usb ports) Would love to know if anyone else has figured out how this can be used to transfer data between pcs.

    Mis-labeled

    I should have thought more about this cable once I knew the price. It states that it's used for "Data Transfer" and it may well be if plugged into dedicated equipment but not a PC. I wrongly assumed the active circuitry was hidden in the plastic molded plug ends. As you may know, you need RTS (ready to send), CLS (clear to send) in your hardware data flow control. Thee state changes are usually controlled by transistors and other active semiconductors in a molded pod on the transfer cable. That's what is missing on this cable.

    May not work for your situation. No good doc.

    Advert says Data File Transfer. It will only work on certain conditions. There is no explanation of those conditions. It didn't work for me even with research.
