Siccome(non si puo iniziare un discorso con un "siccome",ma vista la vena accusatoria è da considerare una concessione poetica,sperando di non far rivoltare Dante nella tomba xD)molti non li conoscono ho deciso di recensire tutti i cd di questo straordinario gruppo,che trall'altro risulta essere una dei miei gruppi preferiti.. Questo gruppo crea il suo successo su ritmi musicali spesso ripetitivi nel perdurare della canzone,ma allo stesso tempo ricercati e coinvolgenti,e sulla stupenda voce del suo cantante Julian Casablancas dotato di una voce che sicuramente da il suo meglio con i toni bassi e che pecca di imprecisioni quando si alza un po,ma che nella sua imperfezione riesce ad essere lo stesso stupenda e adattissima alla musica che gli strumenti ... Un album completo, fantastico. Non ci sarebbe neanche da perdere tempo a spiegare e parlare delle canzoni,bisognerebbe solo dire: ASCOLTATELO!!! Solo la copertina basta per far capire cosa ci si sta per trovare davanti: un fondo schiena femminile nudo con una mano coperta da un guanto di pelle posata sopra(il tutto in bianco e nero)...Accattivante da quest'album sono stati presi parecchi singoli,sia per la qualita del prodotto che per l'innovativita che Mtv ha gradito molto ed ha deciso di premiare con tanta meritata,finalmente,pubblicita... Si parte con Is this it,canzone che da anche il nome al cd e che mostra subito tutto il potenziale del gruppo.. Ci sarebbe tanto da dire su tutte le canzoni,ma io mi fermeri in particolare sulla ballata Someday che considero una canzone davvero molto bella,da ascoltare per innamorarsi subito di questo straordinario gruppo... Strokes the fire!
Wow! You can hear a great band in the making sometimes, this is a perfect example. This version of their first album contains NYC Cops. How bizzare is it that it is track 9 out of 11 (911), which is why they omitted it on the US release. Great disc!

Lástima que ya no toquen más.
Un disco vital, entretenido y agradable de escuchar. Rock and Roll con cierta base estridente, muy retro pero armónico al mismo tiempo. Todo un clásico hoy por hoy.
