The Mayhew knurled brass drift punch is designed for various non-marring applications. While this product is used, safety is never a problem because the unique design effectively prevents sparking. Mechanics and technicians can transport the Mayhew drift punch very easily because it only weighs 0.21 pounds. Since the brass has multiple grooves that provide a firm grip, holding the tool isn't challenging. When the drift punch isn't needed, it doesn't take up a lot of space as the housing is 6 inches long.

      High quality Drift Punch

      This replaced a 3/8 Mayhew punch included in a set of three Mayhew punches from 10 plus years ago. It was used mostly as a nail setter for square nails but for many other purposes and still looked new until my son needed a small diameter (1/8 inch) special punch to drive out a pin on his old car. As an example of quality material, I was able to turn it down to a 1/8 inch punch with a nice 3/8 inch stepped and knurled handle. It did the job required. I always sensed that the Mayhew "brass" was a bit more than simple brass (but maybe not). The replacement was obviously going to be the Mayhew Pro 25077.
