Inspiring film with good morals & goals
It came to me loose in the case & rattling around; when I opened the case & inspected the disc, the entire playing surface is scratched by its not being held in place. Fortunately, it played, which is a tribute to the technology, but I am concerned about it working in the future, or in another DVD player. My advice would be to make sure the next one is securely in place, say, with a small foam piece, even if you have to open the wrap. Buy this only if you've never read the book. Then get the book.
I am one who dearly appreciates the writings of C.S.Lewis. Having said that, perhaps the gentle reader may sense my supreme disappointment in the gutting of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". While no movie is ever "like the book", there's a certain amount of fidelity to the theme and story line that must be had to wear the title of any such work, especially in the nuances of C.S. Don't get me wrong, the CG was quite good, the story semi-heroic and all, but it wasn't "The Voyage". I guess Hollyweird just can't bring itself to accurately portray anything so obviously "Christian" as the redemptive tale of Eustace the Dragon, who had to be freed of his dragon nature by One who could and by no effort of his own.
