Takes me back...
As an avid fan for decades now of the Alien/Predator universe, I had to finally get a copy of the Aliens soundtrack. I've been a James Horner fan as well, and some of the unused score was really incredible to hear!

Feel the action, through orchestration
James Horner is a very gifted composer and the Aliens soundtrack showcases his talent. He borrows heavily from his previous sci-fi scores (Star Trek 2 and 3) and you can even sense some "2001" applications used (especially in the opening theme). That being said, this soundtrack is a rollercoaster of a score and any fan of the genre would be happy to add this to their collection. Ranging from gentle string arrangements (that almost have a lullaby effect) to rocking horns and percussion (that will have you playing "head guitar") there is plenty of variety for anyone who appreciates great movie scores. Have you ever been mistaken for a fan?
I am a fan of this movie, and this is why I bought this album. I've watched this movie a 100 times, (or maybe 150?), a few scenes seems dated, but the music is still fresh. The creepy, the heroic, and the action tracks are all here. True funny story, yesterday when I unwrapped it to listen to it for the first time, the creepy tracks made the hairs on the back of my neck tingle. It was probably because I was alone at home, it was dark, and stormy outside. It's funny because the same tracks didn't affect me while watching the film, it was probably the visuals in the way :p My top favorite tracks (in no particular order) -Ripley's Rescue -Futile Escape -Going After Newt -Bishop's Countdown -Queen to Bishop The bonus tracks were interesting. I'll call those the rough draft of what we got ... I am a fan of this movie, and this is why I bought this album. Arrives in South America
It arrived, but with problems, the legs that hold the cd were all destroyed, probably with some blow on the way, I changed that part for another cd I had and everything was fine. Thank you very much
