    Stabilises temertures nicely.

    The flat heating element part of the belt is of a soft, clingy plastic that is easy to place and adjust. It's long enough to go across two 20 litre tubs next to each other (but not around both tubs) and keep them above 30 degrees. Take care, as if you place too low on the tub you many end up killing your yeast as it is quite warm.

    Home Brew FV heat belt

    Works a treat! Better than a bottom pad which would likely cause yeast autolysis, and uses very little electricity compared to an oil column heater that I used last autumn/winter/early spring. I wrap my FV and belt with thin foil insulation and secure it with a bungy cord in my ensuite bathroom.

    Keeps my mash warm

    Works great , keeps my mash nice and warm and as I live in Tasmania it gets cold so I needed help keeping my mash fermenting. You can adjust the temperature by moving the belt up and down the barrel.

    Needs a thermostat

    This works well, but you need to check it fairly often if you don't use a thermostat to control it. It would definitely be better if it had a thermostat built in, but it's very convenient compared to a fish tank heater, which I used to use many years ago.
