this bridge looks beautiful on my new Squier 5 string bass. The mounting holes were spot on! I used the 2 short intonation screws in the kit to allow for a better adjustment. I like how the spring spacing is adjustable. Yes its a little more than the Fender bridge but take a good look at the 2. Worth it . Thanks Sporthitech.

Great product. It mellows out y

It mellows out your tone a bit because of the brass slots, so if you don't want that ... avoid Adjustments to the string spacing is the easiest I've come across. Also, it's a bit heavy so it add some weight to the bass. Quite easy to install also.

  • Great improvement!

My Squier Vintage Modified 5 string Precision Bass was transformed into a high end sounding/feeling instrument when I dropped this in. My bass was never quite right in terms of bridge placement, so I wasn't surprised when I had to plug the holes and fix the placement. It was still very easy to install. Effing great!!

  • Perfect fit

The bridge was a perfect fit. No filling drilling required. The saddles adjust correctly for intonation. I can't speak for tone change as I added Bartolini pickups and an Audrere onboard preamp at the same time. But my bass now sounds and feels amazing.

  • Quality Product

Product arrived ahead of schedule and well packaged. Initial opinion was the noticeable weight. Not Heavy but it was heavy in a good way. Swapped the bridge in a Squier CV 5 string bass. The install was flawless and an exact match to original bridge. A world of difference in sustain. Love it. Buy one. You will love it too.

  • Quality piece, drops straight in!

Typical Hipshot quality- the adjustment screws all turn with silky precision. Terrific plating on mine (the chrome version). The bridge weighs over 10 ounces, vs 4 ounces for the stock bent-plate bridge. Rails secure the saddles so there's less play, and string spacing is more precise. I'm very happy with my purchase. Only hiccup was that I have a very heavy B string (D'Addario Chrome, 0.132 gauge), and I couldn't get it to intonate correctly until I shortened the intonation screw. Don't know if this was a quirk of my bass (Vintage Modified Precision V), or a bad string.
