I would recommend removing the brake lever out first, and insert it that was, vs trying to fit it over the larger portion, because I think I tore mine a tad installing them.

Also not sure about the excessive/unnecessary use of packing tape on the part, a minor inconvenience but worth mentioning. That being said, they shipped it fast and they accepted my offer quickly, which was a price we were both happy with.
