I purchased the camera because I already had an E510 and wanted another relatively small Olympus camera. Great features are the increased megapixel capacity and the large, articulated LCD screen. Picture quality about equals that of the E-510 (superb) with increased fidelity when severe cropping is done. A negative feature is the reduced grip size--awkward for those with large hands and makes manipulating the camera unwieldy when using a very heavy lens. Also the increased LCD screen size makes for only one possible place to place one's thumb; move it at all and you may inadvertently press a button. I have never been unhappy with any Olympus product. I own many. The E-620 is well worth the investment.
Pro's vs E-520 -Exposure is a little more accurate under most conditions -Images are more crisp (with just a little more noise at higher ISO's) -Auto-focus is better in low light and more accurate in general -LCD has somewhat better contrast -Play and Delete buttons are better positioned -A little more compact Con's vs E-520 -Smaller grip and smaller overall size makes handling more difficult with heavy lenses -Settings in viewfinder are more difficult to see, particularly if you wear glasses -Shutter action reminds me of a motorized compact 35mm camera (unlike the E-520) -Many of the buttons on the back of the camera are smaller (an issue for those with fat fingers) Same-Old Same-Old -Image quality is excellent at ISO 100-200, but falls off quite quickly as you move up Overall, I like it, particularly with prime lensesRead full review

You’ll need LITTLE fingers to run this very small and light DSLR. Image quality is better than my older E-500. It’s amazing how much more Olympus packed into this camera.

I love this camera. It is easy to use, and has a lot of features. I was able to obtain a users manual from Olympus, and accessories are easy to find. I wish it would take an SD card as I haven't found a large XD card and I would like to see a bigger lens made for the camera but the good part is all Olympus lenses fit it.
I am upgrading from the Olympus E-500 (8mp) to this Olympus E-620 (12mp). What a great upgrade. I stayed with Olympus because all of my (expensive) accessories would be too expensive to replace and I was familiar with the functionality. This was like going from a V6 to a V8 car. The camera is fast, functionality is consistent, the focusing upgrades are much improved. I did have to purchase new backup batteries however, they were relatively inexpensive. The camera actually seems lighter than the e-500 and the battery life is great. One of the bads: I have to update my photoshop program from CS3 to handle the RAW files - but that has nothing to do with the camera. check out this link for my photo library. The netherlands set are with the E620 - http://www.flickr.com/photos/labeyta. The increase in pixel density is a huge plus. Great camera. Maybe someday i will go from my v8 (E-620) to a v12 (E-5) but for now (and the price), I am quite happy.Read full review
