I ordered this lens and couldn't wait to get it. It's really great. Build quality is fantastic and it feels like butter. Butter feels good right? It's creamy for sure. Everyone like cream. Most people like cream. Fantastic lens at a great price. When I realized these lenses aren't much more than my Zeiss ZE set, it didn't sting as much to fork over the dough. Once I did though, once I used them - kabloooe! These are amazin!

Really not much to say other then for the money the Xeen line of lenses are fantastic. I've been fortunate enough to use both the Canon Cine line of lenses as well as the CP2's from Zeiss and in my humble opinion they don't offer a lot over the Xeen's accept for the name and reputation. The build, the look, the feel, the quality, the optics...and most importantly the performance of the Xeen lens all rate high marks with me. I currently own the 24, 50 & 85 and will probably own the rest of the line by the years end. These lenses are an exceptional deal at $2,500.

Rokinon have really lifted the standard with the release of the Xeen range of cine lenses. Not in the range of the top DSLR medium format optics requiring 100MB capture, the 85mm in particular captures beautiful bokeh and is well suited for close up filming bringing soft skin tones and highlights to your image. With magnesium alloy components, distance and T stop scales both sides for focus pulling the range will be a go to piece of kit for the long term.

These lens actually have very little breathing during rack focus movement. The bokeh is also very nice too. I have found the "sweet spot " to be somewhere between 2.0- 2.8 . Possibly the best value for $ in the cinema prime lens market to date.
