All the features of four products vcr, dvd, hard drive and sd in one place. No need for extra cables to connect the four because it is all together. All this helps reduce space.. The finger tip controls allow for this ease of use among all the features. Picture quality is sharper and brighter than older units. Great for those without DVR use.

It's a great product; it's just a shame it's so hard to get. It records beautifully, it's easy to edit saved TV shows, it's great at copying to DVD or VHS. I'm a happy camper.

I purchased this to replace my previous Panasonic which died after 13 years of faithful service. It works just like the old one before it died and is still one of the best DVRs with full editing ability. I wish that they still made this product.

I have owned 3 of these units. One I threw away, the other two have had the optical laser readers replaced in both, and one of the remaining two units has gone bad again. With the loss of the OLR this becomes just a VHS player and a DVR. You cannot create a disk, or even play a DVD. The guy who repaired mine the first time around sourced the required parts direct from Japan but now they are all gone. Truth is, I think that Panasonic discontinued the production because of pressure from Hollywood; or more likely, high warranty repair costs.
