      It works.

      Had to deduct a star, as others have mentioned the colors are slightly mixed between the yellow and red connections otherwise it would have been 5 stars. If you matched the colors up between the adapter and composite cables (yellow-yellow, red-red, and white-white) it doesn't work. But if you coupled the yellow adapter and the red composite cable, and the red adapter and yellow composite cable it works fine. There is a slight buzzing tone when you connect the adapter to the TV but in time you kind of forget about it.

      Now I can watch my old video tapes on HD TV.

      Plug and play with my smart TV. The other reviews that mentioned incorrect color coded leads did not apply with mine. I just plugged the leads as indicated with no problem. Of course the old standard format recordings are quite a bit degraded compared to broadcast TV, but it's great to see some old home videos from my VCR.

      Works but you need to be aware of quirks

      For some reason, the yellow and red parts of this cable are switched for my lg 9100 oled. If you have a newer model lg (2015+) be aware of this before sending it back as faulty.
