    Steely Dan music is quality, however, I bought 4 cds (by the band) together from Chalkys UK. The packaging was poor and every jewel cd case arrived cracked. Is it too much to ask for bubble wrap?

    Hi, The CD has arrived and it works fine. The only thing to note is the disc plastic insert holder within the protective case was damaged...I have spare protective cases, so this is not a problem, but please consider better wrapping/shipping materials.

    Excellent Album

    Donald Fagen makes what is a good album, a great album. The musicianship of this album is undeniably the best there is. Apparently it took over a million dollars to produce and the record label were getting fractious, but once the finished article was presented all worries disappeared. I would also recommend that anyone who enjoys this album also listens to Gaucho, another Steely Dan recording and finally The Nighflly by Donald Fagen, one of my all time top ten albums. Enjoy.

    Dull Dan

    Aja by Steely Dan is the album that seems to be the one that people hail as a classic, however I tend to disagree, as I think The Royal Scam, their previous album, is far more superior on many levels. I feel by this time in their career, Steely Dan were on auto pilot, and just churning out third rate Jazz, that by now, was becoming tiring, and samey. The songs on this album feel bland, and stale, only the title track, and Home At Last stand out for me. Countdown To Ecstasy, Pretzel Logic, and Can't Buy A Thrill, are far better recording's, as those records have a lot more interesting ideas to offer, and have more interesing styles. Katy Lied was considered by a lot of the critics at the time, to be one of their weaker albums, but I listen to Katy Lied more than I do Aja. you can tell ...

    It is as described.

    A remaster of an album I already own. The original is somewhat flat sounding and this remaster addresses this issue on some tracks but not all. Still worth purchasing, as it good value and not a rip off, as many remastered albums are.
